Peter has international management experience in operations and projects in the mining, power, and oil and gas industries. Prior to his current assignment, Peter was Project Executive on the PNG LNG Project and its predecessor the PNG – Australia Gas Pipeline Project. Prior to working on these gas commercialisation projects, Peter provided project oversight to a large gas fired power generation project in Hong Kong, and planning support to a number of other oil and gas projects.

Previously, Peter held the position of Technical Department Manager in ExxonMobil Coal and Mineral Company based in Houston supporting operations and projects in coal and metaliferous mining operations in Chile, Colombia, USA, Australia and Canada and power operations in Hong Kong. He also held the positions of General Manager, Monterey Coal Company in Illinois and Managing Director, Exxon Coal and Minerals Australia Limited.

Peter holds a Master of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, both degrees from the University of New South Wales.

In 2014, Peter was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for service to the Papua New Guinea petroleum industry and the community through supporting social development initiatives.

Peter serves on the Executive Committee of PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum, and is a Board Member of the Port Moresby General Hospital.
