In January 2015, Lance was appointed as IFC’s Global Head of Extractive Industries, where he is responsible for leading IFC’s investment and advisory work in the oil, gas and mining sectors.  Prior to this role, he was global head of IFC’s oil & gas team in Global Infrastructure & Natural Resources, where he led IFC’s new business for oil & gas. Lance joined IFC as an Investment Officer in 1992, and over his career he has worked in IFC’s Warsaw and Moscow offices, and in areas ranging from privatization advisory services to investments in manufacturing, services and telecommunications. He was promoted to Manager of the Chemicals Division in 2002, and has held his current position since 2008. He earned a B.A. from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
